Limoneira Pavilion
The Limoneira Pavilion is an interactive facility which communicates the benefits of the new East Area I community development. This comfortable facility has computer terminals, a 60” wide screen Plasma TV for video presentations, seating areas and tables and chairs for meetings.
Around the perimeter of the room are panels which describe both Santa Paula’s rich history and Limoneira’s intertwined relationship with the community. The panels are arranged by decade starting in the late nineteenth century and ending in the present day. Limoneira’s archival photos as well as historic photos from John Nichol’s collection were used to illustrate the panels.
Graphical representations of Santa Paula’s residential development history, the Master Plan for the East Area One Community Development and conceptual renderings of the East Area I neighborhoods are also displayed. The Master Plan was developed by Dave Sargent of Moule and Polyzoides, Architects and Urbanists. A long time advocate for high quality neighborhood design and architecture in California, Mr. Sargent has organized a number of conferences and presentations on urbanism and is a frequent speaker throughout the state. In 2004, he coauthored a white paper on smart growth in California for the Governor’s office of Planning and Research which proved instrumental in the passage of legislation enabling cities to use form-based codes in lieu of conventional use-based codes.
Display panels continue around the perimeter of the Pavilion and communicate Limoneira’s business ventures in agritourism, filming and citrus and avocado custom gifts. The thread of sustainability has run through the company’s history up to the present day, and display panels communicate the Company’s sustainable initiatives along with the Company’s commitment to community support.
A three dimensional model of Santa Paula East Areas I shows the layout of the new community amenities including athletic fields, educational offerings, a civic center a variety of housing types, senior residential living, retail, office and light industrial components. This model was developed by master model builder and architect Don Conard. Don’s firm specializes in creating high-accuracy architectural scale models.
Videos were produced to communicate how the Santa Paula East Area I master planned community went from idea to the development of a Specific Plan which was eventually approved by 83% of Santa Paula voters on June 3, 2008. These videos were produced by Robert Raser, President of RLR Production Group, a gifted video story teller with clients including The Walt Disney Company, The Reagan Presidential Library, Lexus, J.C. Penney and many others.
The Limoneira Pavilion is currently used by several Santa Paula service organizations for meetings and is available for all public uses with proper reservation. Please let us know if you have questions about the Pavilion. Thank you. |
